“ A green lung in a densely urban area.” Sir Gerald Kaufman MP 1930 - 2017 Home

This project was started in 2012 to give people the chance to enjoy a gardening experience whilst also learning new skills and helping the park.

Formerly ‘The Volunteer Gardening Project’, the group is now run by Olwyn Taylor from the Debdale Bowling and Social Club.

Work is varied according to the season and people’s interest and capabilities. It could involve tidying up a flower bed, planting new plants, pruning shrubs or cutting the grass verges.  The Friends have provided equipment including two new lawn mowers, a tractor mower and strimmer.

Anyone is welcome to join in for however long and whenever convenient.

Every little helps! just turn up and we can provide the tools and direction.
