The Three Main Elements

The Park

The entire park will be renewed to provide a wide range of facilities for all age groups to enjoy.

These include a new adventure play area, a multi sport area, an outside gym, new wooded areas, wild flower areas, multi-functional event area, an extended car park, renewed pathways, hard core field area, fully drained playing fields. More….

Gorton House

This is a historic Georgian house located in the centre of the park in need of restoration. The house together with two lodges at the park entrance and extensive out buildings will be fully refurbished to provide space for a wide range of community based enterprises and projects including  a Visitor Centre, Cafe, Park Office, workshops and storage areas. Gorton  Community

The park will reach out into the community so as to maximise the effectiveness of its services and help to promote the regeneration of the community.


Projects reaching  out into the community such as Growing Gorton, Gorton Green Corridor, Gorton Heritage Trail and Debdale Eco-Centre will embed the Park in a wider area. The Park will work with established projects in the area such as Debdale Allotment Society and Debdale Outdoor Centre so as to promote the overall development of the area.


The Friends if Debdale continue to work in partnership with the local authority, Manchester City Council and other local groups in the Gorton area. More….
