3. New Kick Boxing project for local youths.
A grant of £625 has been received from Arcon Community Fund to refurbish two rooms in the Aviary so as to allow a new Kick Boxing Club to be started. Conversion work will start over Christmas in the hope that the new club will be able to start in the new year.
4. Heroes Wood
This project to remember the fallen of two world wars is well under way. The Action Group met on 10 December to reassess the project. It has now been agreed that the wood will now consist of 40 newly planted semi-mature oaks at the far end of the playing field with access path and memorial features. The project could cost about £20K and a bid to the Heritage Lottery is being prepared. Schools are to be asked to join in and contribute to the preparation of memorial material for the lecterns.
5. Green Fingers Gardening Project.
A new volunteer has been taken on as a work placement from Seetec who will be helping to in the conversion of the Shipping Container to make a project centre. We are hoping to fit doors, windows and insulate the interior before cladding to make a use-able cabin
We are looking for help and expertise to assist us in achieving our goals.
